My name is Heather, I am a writer living in Denver, Colorado. I created this website to share my writing about navigating the inner world using nature, animals, and tarot symbolism. For me this is more than a spiritual journey, this is a Soul Journey.
On my path, I discovered that we are all destined to learn our Soul Life Lessons while we are here on Earth. Even if we try to ignore them, the Universe has a way of letting us know it’s time to wake up with life altering experiences such as divorce, physical illness, or financial loss.
My personal journey began with physical illness. After my first surgery, I was in rough shape. I tried to Tyrant my way to recovery, in my typical Cooper’s Hawk way, but for the first time in my life, I was unable to control the narrative.
Although this was a brutalizing experience, it is one I am most grateful for because I finally had to slow down and take a good look at myself and my life. To get through the challenge I was the one who needed to change.
As my journey began, what started out as a reducing stress and finding ways to physically heal, quickly became my soul path. Many of my physical issues had been chronic and some had been with me most of my life. This led me to dig deeper into Soul Work and learning more about Soul Life Lessons.
At the core, Soul Lessons represents our spiritual agreement or contract that we made prior to birth. This contract guides us on our journey through life with a set of predetermined experiences, relationships and lessons that are critical for spiritual development and soul growth.
Our Soul Lessons can come in many forms, but the core of each is similar: love, forgiveness, compassion, kindness, nonjudgement, honor, service, to name a few. Some are quite layered and may include several things like learning humility, vulnerability, and trust, while also developing inner strength, stamina and devotion to navigate the complexity of a life challenge.
If we pay attention and listen, guidance alerting us to change can arrive softly. We may start to feel off emotionally, or we may start to have slight aches and pains. If we choose to ignore the smaller messages then change may arrive loudly, with sudden illness or significant loss. The louder experiences in our lives are meant to shake us to our core.
When we ignore our inner self, we block guidance. Many times, we need to change course in our lives as we have learned all we can from our current experience. Change is challenging so we cling on to what we know is familiar.
As we continue to try and maintain control over our lives, we allow our survival fears to rule, and we suffer immensely as a result. We are not meant to live in a constant state of fear and panic that life is out to get us. We are meant to keep the wisdom from the experience, not the pain. The wisdom from the lesson is what allows us to grow and evolve spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically.
As I embarked on the journey, I began learning about energy healing and the connections to childhood development as well as our mental and emotional energy connections to our physical body. Through Inner Work Practices like, Inner Child and Shadow/Archetype work, and utilizing Chakra Energy Healing, we truly do have the power to heal ourselves.
In the beginning, it was a challenge for me to grasp on to the concepts of the unseen realm, so I was struggling with the application of the new practices I was learning. I have always been a visual person but the visual I needed was not “visualization”, I needed something more physical.
I am extremely grateful that I found two allies to help me on my path, animals and Tarot. If you are open to it, animals and Tarot can offer hope, healing, clarity and guidance while helping us navigate the lessons we are destined to learn while we are here on Earth.
Animal symbolism has been studied for generations and has deep roots in history, religion and many different cultures. As I continue my journey, I have discovered that animal symbolism goes much deeper than the traditional meanings that are readily available. The concept of Spirit, Totem, and Power animals are just the beginning.
Through our inner world, animal symbolism can guide us through an even deeper path to healing with their connections to Inner Work, Inner Child, Shadow/Archetypes and Chakras. Within our Chakras, there is a direct link to childhood development and the key areas throughout our lives where we were to learn our various Soul Life Lessons.
Animals are all around us, all we need to do is look around. They may come to us in physical form, or we may see their images on social media or billboards, television or movies or hear about them frequently through songs or through passing conversations. They always find a way to let us know they are there.
Understanding their symbolism can help us determine what Soul Life Lessons they are here to guide us with on our path. And for those that are not on the inner work journey, every animal can offer hope, healing, and daily inspiration – they are powerful reminders that we all possess inner strength, confidence and potential.
In addition to working with Spirit Animal guides, I also began studying Tarot. My journey with Tarot began as I was trying to understand and connect with my intuition. I realized that like animals, Tarot is rich with symbolism and guidance. I began using Tarot with Shadow Work and it has made a positive impact on my life, helping me develop a deeper understanding of myself and others.
Whether you have been on the inner work path for some time or are just starting out, the journey requires getting to the root cause of our issues, which will require going back to our childhood. For some it may be easy, while for others, childhood may be a particularly difficult time to relive. Working with animal guides and Tarot symbolism can make these travels back in time a bit easier. Once we get to the core of our trauma and fears we can release the hold the pain has over us and start the healing process.
Throughout my journey, I created a collection of inspirational stories related to Inner Work, Spirit Animal and Tarot Symbolism. My goal is to share my unique path of spiritual healing using Animals and Tarot so together, we can learn our Soul Life Lessons. When we are united, we can grow, transform, and evolve spiritually as interconnected humans, ready to make a positive impact on the world.
